Is memorizing the Qur’an obligatory?

Answer:

Memorizing the Qur’an is a collective duty and is not obligatory upon every individual of this Ummah (nation). Memorizing the Qur’an is one of the best forms of worship and contains great reward if a Muslim acts according to its ordinances and follows its limits and rulings.
