In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. And I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad (ﷺ) is the Messenger of Allah.
Our Methodology
Our content is rooted in the authentic ‘aqidah (creed) of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama‘ah, adheres strictly to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ. We are dedicated to preserving and sharing this creed as it was understood and practiced by the Salaf as-Salih (the Pious Predecessors) of this Ummah.
Our ‘Aqidah (Creed)
1) First and foremost, we uphold the Tawheed (Oneness) of Allah. Our worship is dedicated solely to Him, performed in the manner He has legislated, and we solemnly bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad (ﷺ) is His bondman and Messenger.1
“That is Allah, your Lord, the Creator of all things, Laa ilaaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He).” (Quran, Ghafir [40]:62).
2) We believe the Qur’an is the Speech of Allah and is not created. Consistent with the consensus of Ahlus-Sunnah, anyone who claims the Qur’an is created has strayed into disbelief.
3) We hold as a core tenet of faith that Muhammad (ﷺ) is the final Messenger of Allah. No Prophet or Messenger will be sent after him; he is the completion of the divine message and the final guide for all of humanity.
Allah Ta’ala says: “Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and the final seal of the Prophets.” (Quran, al-Ahzab [33]:40)
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “And there is no prophet after me” 2
4) We believe the authentic Sunnah is revelation sent down by Allah. We uphold that the Prophet ﷺ was guided by revelation in all matters of religion, fulfilling the Quranic truth that “he does not speak of his own inclination.”
Allah Ta’ala says in His Book: “By the star when it goes down (or vanishes). Your companion (Muhammad) has neither gone astray nor has erred. Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only a Revelation revealed” (Quran, an-Najm [53]:1-4)
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Verily I have been given the Quran and something similar to it along with it.” 3
5) We hold that adherence to the authentic Sunnah is mandatory, as obedience to the Messenger (ﷺ) is inseparable from obedience to Allah. Allah explicitly commands us: “O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger” (Quran, an-Nisa’ [4]:59). We take his guidance as the final authority.
The Prophet ﷺ said in his Farewell Sermon: “I am leaving behind among you something which, if you adhere to it, you will not go astray after that. It is the Book of Allah (Quran) and my Sunnah.” 4
And he ﷺ said: “Whoever turns away from my Sunnah (way) has nothing to do with me.” 5
And he ﷺ said: “Pay attention to my Sunnah (way) and the way of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs after me, adhere to it and hold fast to it.” 6
6) We affirm the Names and Attributes of Allah as they are established in the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah. We accept them according to their apparent meaning without metaphorical interpretation (ta’wil), for there is nothing like unto Allah. Any attribute He has ascribed to Himself, or that His Prophet (ﷺ) has ascribed to Him, is affirmed in a real sense, free from both metaphorical distortion and any likeness to His creation (tamthil).
“There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer” (Quran, ash-Shura [42]:11)
7) We uphold faith in Allah’s Angels, His revealed Books, and His chosen Prophets and Messengers. We also believe in the Divine Decree (al-Qada’ wal-Qadar), accepting both the good and the perceived evil thereof as being from Allah.
8) We believe in the Resurrection after death and the events of the Last Day, including the Reckoning, the Bridge (as-Sirat), and the Cistern. We affirm the reality of Paradise and Hell, the Throne, and the punishment and bliss of the grave. We believe in all matters of the Unseen exactly as they have been established in the authentic narrations.
9) We affirm our belief in the intercession (Shafa’ah) of the Prophet (ﷺ) and those whom Allah has permitted to intercede on the Day of Resurrection. We believe this honor is granted only by Allah’s leave and only for those with whom He is pleased.
Allah Ta’ala says: “Say: All intercession belongs to Allah alone [and no one can intercede except by His leave]” (az-Zumar [39]:44)
And He says: “None shall have the power of intercession, but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from the Most Beneficent (Allah).” (Quran, Maryam[19]: 87)
10) We maintain that obedience to the Muslim ruler is an obligation in all matters that do not involve disobedience to Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ). This duty remains constant, whether the ruler is righteous or sinful. We believe in the obligation of patience during times of hardship and affirm that rebellion against the established authorities is strictly forbidden.
Allah Ta’ala says: “O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)), and those who are in authority.” (Quran, An-Nisa’[4]:59).
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “It is obligatory upon a Muslim to listen (to the ruler) and obey whether he likes it or not, except when he is ordered to do a sinful thing; in such case, there is no obligation to listen or to obey.” 7
Shaykhul-Islam [Ibn Taymiyyah], may Allah have mercy on him, stated in Al-Aqidah al-Wasitiyyah: ‘Among the ways of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah is performing the Friday prayers, the Eids, the Hajj, and Jihad with the leaders—whether they are righteous or wicked.’
11) We love the Ahl al-Bayt and recognize their high station; to hate them is to harbor hatred for the religion. This honor includes the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ). We uphold the consensus that slandering our mother ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her)—whom Allah Himself cleared of all false accusations—or any of the Mothers of the Believers, is a clear act of apostasy.
Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “The (Muslim) Ummah is agreed that whoever slanders the Mother of Believers ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) is a kafir (disbeliever).” 8
12) We hold a deep love and respect for all the Companions (Sahabah) of the Prophet (ﷺ) and distance ourselves from those who criticize, revile, or harbor hatred toward them. We maintain that loving the Sahabah is an integral part of faith (Iman) and righteousness, while hating them is an act of disbelief (kufr), hypocrisy, and transgression.
It was narrated that al-Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: ‘The Ansar: no one loves them but a believer and no one hates them but a hypocrite. Whoever loves them, Allah will love him, and whoever hates them, Allah will hate him.’” 9
And he ﷺ said: “Whoever reviles my companions, upon him be the curse of Allah, the angels and all the people.” 10
And he ﷺ also said: “Do not slander my companions, for if one of you were to spend an amount of gold equivalent to the size of Mount Uhud, you would not even come halfway up to their level.” 11
13) We shun and reject all forms of Bid’ah (religious innovation), whether they pertain to matters of creed (‘aqidah) or practice (‘ibadah). We believe the religion was perfected during the lifetime of the Prophet (ﷺ); therefore, we heed his solemn warning: “I urge you to adhere to my Sunnah and the way of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs who come after me. Adhere to it and cling firmly to it. And beware of newly introduced matters, for every newly introduced matter is a bid’ah (an innovation), and every bid’ah (innovation in religion) is a going astray, and every going astray will be in the Fire.” 12
14) We hold that all religious innovations are rejected, without exception. We do not recognize the concept of a “good bid’ah,” as it contradicts the explicit and general warning of the Prophet (ﷺ): “Every bid’ah is a going astray.” (see footnote # 12)
15) We maintain that the realization of Tawheed remains incomplete without the application of al-Wala’ wal-Bara’ (loyalty and disassociation for the sake of Allah). This entails directing one’s love, alliance, and support toward what Allah loves, and distancing oneself from all that He dislikes and forbids.
Allah says in His Noble Book: “There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, ‘Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone’” (Quran, al-Mumtahinah [60]:4)
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The strongest bond of faith is taking believers as allies and friends for the sake of Allah and to regard disbelievers as enemies for the sake of Allah, to love for the sake of Allah and hate for the sake of Allah.” 13
16) We affirm that Allah is above His heavens, ascended over His Throne in a manner that befits His Majesty. He is distinct and separate from His creation, and nothing of His essence is mixed with His creatures, nor is anything of His creatures mixed with His essence.
17) We hold that Iman (Faith) consists of belief, speech, and action. It is a dynamic state that flourishes through righteousness and obedience, and diminishes through neglect and disobedience to Allah’s commands.
18) We do not declare a Muslim to be a disbeliever (kafir) due to the commission of a major sin, provided that the sin itself does not constitute disbelief. We believe that a person remains within the fold of Islam despite their shortcomings, as long as they do not violate the foundational tenets of the faith.
19) We maintain that it is strictly impermissible to take the lives of non-Muslims living under Muslim authority or to transgress against their rights. We reject all forms of injustice toward them, as Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ) have forbidden such oppression. Furthermore, we uphold the Quranic principle of showing kindness and fair treatment to those non-Muslims who do not wage war against Muslims.
Allah Ta’ala says: “Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity.” (al-Mumtahinah [60]:8)
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever kills a mu’ahid (a non-Muslim living under Muslim rule) will not smell the fragrance of Paradise, although its fragrance may be detected from a distance of forty years.” 14
20) We believe that no Muslim who worshipped Allah alone—associating no partners with Him—will remain in Hellfire eternally. Even if such a person committed major sins and was punished for them in the Hereafter, we affirm that they will eventually be removed from the Fire by the mercy of Allah.
21) We affirm our belief in the descent of ‘Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus, son of Mary, peace be upon him) toward the end of time. We believe he will return as a just ruler, following the Law of Muhammad (ﷺ), and will ultimately slay the Dajjal (the False Messiah), as established in the authentic Prophetic narrations.
22) We reject all sects, parties, and movements that deviate from the clear path of the Qur’an and the Sunnah. This includes groups such as the Shi’a, the various orders of Sufism, and other sects whose core tenets and practices contradict the foundational teachings of Islam. We believe that true unity is only achieved by adhering strictly to the way of the Prophet (ﷺ) and his Companions.
“Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects), you (O Muhammad) have no concern in them in the least. Their affair is only with Allah, Who then will tell them what they used to do” (Quran, al-An‘am [6]:159)
Our Aims
(1). Clarity: To present the pure teachings of Islam, rooted in Tawheed and the authentic Sunnah.
(2). Education: To provide a remedy for ignorance by promoting the pursuit of knowledge. We uphold the Prophetic principle that the cure for ignorance is to ask and to learn, fulfilling the obligation of knowledge-seeking upon every Muslim.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.” 15
(3). Cultivating Scholarly Inquiry: To eradicate ignorance by encouraging the community to refer back to the people of knowledge.
Allah Ta’ala says: “So ask those who possess knowledge if you do not know” (Quran, an-Nahl [16]:43)
The Prophet ﷺ said, “Verily, the only cure for ignorance is to ask questions.” 16
(4). Awareness: To awaken a deeper understanding of the Islamic mission within the hearts of the Ummah.
(5). Preservation: To safeguard the religion by refuting falsehoods and warning against distortions and bid’ah (innovations) that deviate from the Prophetic path.
Finally, We ask Allah, the Most High, to grant us success and to keep us steadfast upon the truth and the path of guidance. We pray that He allows us to remain firm in our adherence to His religion until we meet Him. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all of his companions.
