The creed of Ahl al-Sunnah regarding Yazid ibn Muawiyah is that he was one of the Muslim kings; he had good deeds and he had bad deeds, and Allah the Exalted takes charge of him (judges him). Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) and others stated this. He is one of the Muslim kings, having good deeds and bad deeds, and he is a monotheist among the monotheists—not a disbeliever. Allah the Exalted is the One who takes charge of the reckoning among His servants.
