Question:
May Allah be good to you, Your Eminence Shaykh, this questioner asks: If a man stands at a grave and asks the deceased, saying, “O so-and-so, if you are among the people of Paradise, then supplicate to Allah for us,” what is the ruling on this action?
Answer:
He is going to supplicate for you while he is dead?! You supplicate to Allah; you are the one who should supplicate to Allah. As for the dead, do not ask them for anything—neither supplication nor anything else. He is not capable of anything, neither supplication nor anything else.
