Question:

May Allah bestow His generosity upon you. The petitioner from Yemen asks: Is it permissible for a woman, while her husband is away, to allow non-mahram relatives to enter and stay overnight in the house?

Answer:

This is not permissible for her. It is not allowed for a woman to let anyone who is not her mahram into her husband’s house. Furthermore, she is not permitted to allow even her mahram relatives to stay in her husband’s house as residents unless he has given permission. However, regarding the second case (the mahram): if her husband grants permission for one of her mahram relatives to live with her, then there is no harm in it. As for the first issue (non-mahram), she must avoid it as strictly as one would flee from a lion. Yes.
