Question:
May Allah bless you, Your Eminence the Sheikh, what should we say, or how should we respond to someone who says and claims that the scholars in this country do not offer ‘sincere advice’ (naseehah) to the rulers and those in authority?
Answer:
We say: This person is a liar. How does he know that the scholars do not offer sincere advice to those in authority? What is his proof?! The scholars do offer sincere advice to those in authority, but they do not publicize it in front of the people. Rather, they advise them privately between themselves, just as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded.
