Knowing that it might be a cause for the Jews to retaliate with something harsher than what the members of this organization did, and is their uprising against their new state legitimate?

Answer:

We hear that they carry out operations against the Jews, and we view the Jews as a people of treachery and betrayal, incapable of fulfilling promises to anyone, no matter what they pretend to show. Behind this pretense lies whatever evil it holds. If they did not fulfill the covenant with the most noble of humanity, Muhammad ﷺ, how much less for those beneath him?! We understand that the Jews are a people of treachery and betrayal. As for the operation by Hamas or others, we say to the questioner: If you are a representative on their behalf, prove that to us, and we will issue a fatwa for you, God willing.
