Question:
My work led me into mistakes and sins involving women short of zina (adultery), and I lied out of fear of scandal. Do I need to tell the truth after my repentance?
Answer:
Repentance is sufficient. A person should cover themselves with the concealment of Allah, along with repentance and not disclosing the sins and misdeeds that occurred from them. Whoever repents, Allah will accept their repentance.
The obligation upon you is to turn to Allah in repentance, beware of the causes of evil, beware of the means leading to zina, and beware of everything that Allah has forbidden. If a servant commits any of these sins, let him repent to Allah, seek His forgiveness, and not reveal his affair, expose his shortcomings, or scandalize himself.
