Answer:

It is prohibited to eat cats, for they are of the fanged animals. It was related by Abu Dawud on the authority of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade (the eating) of all fanged beasts of prey, and all the birds having talons.”
