On the Allegation of Quranic Alteration and the Status of the Rawafid

Ibn Hazm, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

As for what they [the Christians] say regarding the claim of the Rawafid (Rafidah Shia) that the Qur’an has been altered: the Rawafid are not Muslims; rather, they are a sect whose origins arose twenty-five years after the death of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. They are a faction that follows the path of the Jews and Christians in falsehood and disbelief.

قال ابن حزم: (وأما قولهم- يعني النصارى- في دعوى الروافض تبديلَ القرآن، فإن الروافض ليسوا من المسلمين، إنما هي فرقة حدث أولها، بعد موت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بخمس وعشرين سنة، وهي طائفة تجري مجرى اليهود والنصارى في الكذب والكفر).
