Name and Lineage:

He is Saad bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Shathri, and his family belongs to the Qahtan tribe.

Academic Career:

• Dr. Saad bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz Abu Habib Al-Shathri grew up in a family known for knowledge and religion generation after generation. From a young age, he was interested in seeking and focusing on Islamic legal knowledge, continuing this path until he completed his university studies at the College of Sharia in Riyadh, after which he was chosen as a teaching assistant there.
• His ambition led him to pursue a Master’s degree, presenting a thesis entitled: “Distinguishing Between Principles and Branches” (Al-Tafriq bayna Al-Usul wa Al-Furu), and he subsequently earned his Ph.D. in 1417 AH with a dissertation titled “Certainty and Speculation According to Usulis” (Al-Qat’ wa Al-Zann ‘inda Al-Usuliyyin).
• He received academic commendations and endorsements from numerous scholars, such as Sheikh Ibn Baz, Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Rajhi, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Barrak, and others.
• He received several scholarly ijazas (licenses) for narrating books of the Sunnah from various scholars, such as Sheikh Abdullah Al-Aqil.

The Sheikh studied under a number of esteemed scholars and mentors, and was clearly influenced by them. Among the most prominent were:

• His Eminence Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Baz – may Allah have mercy on him.
• His Eminence Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars, and General President of Scholarly Research and Ifta.
• His Eminence Sheikh Saleh Al-Atram.
• His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Sir Al-Mubarki, member of the Council of Senior Scholars.
• The Usuli scholar Sheikh Abdullah bin Ghudyan – may Allah have mercy on him – under whom he studied Islamic legal theory (Usul al-Fiqh) and jurisprudential maxims (Qawa’id fiqhiyya).
• His father, Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Shathri.
