Shaykh Muhammad ibn Sa'id Ahmad Raslan

Lineage and Kunyah:

He is our beloved Sheikh, Muhammad bin Sa’id Ahmad Raslan, whose Kunyah is Abu Abdullah, may Allah the Exalted preserve him.

Birth:

He was born, may Allah the Exalted preserve him, in the village of Sabk al-Ahad, Ashmoun Center, in the Menoufia Governorate (Egypt) on November 23, 1955 CE.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Received a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from Al-Azhar University.
  • Received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Arabic Language, Department of Islamic Studies.
  • Received a Master’s degree in Hadith Sciences with a grade of Excellence with First Class Honors for his research titled: “The Standards of Narration According to the Hadith Masters (Al-Muhaddithin).”
  • Received a Ph.D. (Al-Alimiyyah) in Hadith Sciences with a grade of Excellence with First Class Honors for his research titled: “Innovating Narrators Among the Men of the Six Books.”
  • He holds, may Allah preserve him, an Ijaza (authorization) for forty hadiths with his chain of transmission back to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, which are known as the “Al-Arba’in Al-Buldaniyyah” (The Forty Country-Based Hadiths).
  • He was influenced by a group of prominent and verifying scholars, following in their footsteps, among them: Shaykh al-Islam Abu al-Abbas Ahmad ibn Taymiyyah, and his distinguished pupil, the Lordly Scholar and second Shaykh al-Islam, Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah.

Da’wah (Preaching) Efforts:

He delivers the Friday sermon (Khutbah) and lessons at the Eastern Mosque in Sabk al-Ahad, and gives lectures in various countries.
