The Jews are known by the name ‘the Jews,’ but they began calling themselves ‘Israel.’ And Israel—peace be upon him—is actually Jacob, the son of Isaac.

This is part of their deception.

The problem is that some people say: ‘O Allah, curse Israel,’ which effectively means cursing Jacob, peace be upon him. A person must be cautious of this. Or if they say, ‘Allah’s curse be upon Israel’—no. Instead, say: ‘Allah’s curse be upon the Jews’ or ‘May Allah curse the Jews.’ Do not say ‘Israel.’

قال الشيخ صالح الفوزان حفظه الله: اليهود اسمهم المعروف هو اليهود، ولكنهم صاروا يقولون إسرائيل، وإسرائيل ـ عليه السلام ـ هو يعقوب بن إسحاق، فهذا من تلبيسهم، المشكلة أن بعض الناس يقول: اللهم العن إسرائيل، يعني يلعن يعقوب عليه السلام، يتحرز الإنسان من هذا، أو لعنة الله على إسرائيل، لا، قل لعنة الله على اليهود، أو لعن الله اليهود، لا تقل إسرائيل.
